NeuroKinetic Therapy® (NKT)
Finding the Cause, Not Just Treating the Symptoms
One of the most important things I've learned over the years is that where the pain is, isn't always where the problem is.
Many people come to me after trying numerous treatments, only to find that their symptoms keep returning. Often, this is because the body has developed compensation patterns that are masking the real issue.
This is where NeuroKinetic Therapy® (NKT) can be incredibly powerful.
NKT is a sophisticated assessment and corrective system that looks at the relationship between the brain and the body's movement patterns. By using a process of manual muscle testing, I can identify muscles that may not be communicating effectively with the brain and uncover the compensation patterns that have developed as a result.
Quite simply, if the brain can't find a muscle, it can't use it properly.
When this happens, the body recruits other muscles to do the job instead. Over time, these compensations can lead to pain, tension, reduced performance and recurring injuries.
NeuroKinetic Therapy® helps identify these hidden patterns and allows the brain to reconnect with muscles that may have become inhibited or forgotten.
Many people experience what I call a "light bulb moment" during treatment.
A muscle that hasn't been working properly suddenly switches back on.
Movement becomes easier.
Pain reduces.
Things simply start to make sense.
NKT can be particularly helpful for:
- Chronic pain
- Recurring injuries
- Back pain
- Neck and shoulder pain
- Hip and knee pain
- Sports injuries
- Postural issues
- Movement dysfunction
- Performance limitations
- Compensation patterns following injury
One of the reasons I value NKT so highly is that it helps explain why some people never fully recover despite having treatment focused directly on the painful area.
The body is incredibly clever.
It will always find a way to keep moving.
Unfortunately, the solutions it creates aren't always efficient and often lead to further problems down the line.
By identifying and correcting these compensation strategies, we can often uncover the true source of the problem and create lasting improvements.
NKT is rarely used in isolation.
I often combine it with physiotherapy, fascial release, Anatomy in Motion®, Medical Acupuncture, strength training and rehabilitation exercises to help create long-term change.
My aim is not simply to reduce pain.
My aim is to help your body function the way it was designed to.
When the brain and body start communicating properly again, remarkable things can happen.
